# Switched to Gitlab's Continuous Deployment Process

I switched the deployment process for this blog. It gets now automatically deployed leveraging Gitlab’s continuous integration approach. So far it works like charm. I have not noticed any bugs. This is the first post I am going to publish using the new method.

# Bootstrapped

It has been a while since I had my last website. Intro My previous website was realized using the famous Wordpress. While there is nothting really wrong with Wordpress, I never really liked the idea of a dynamic website. Not only are there performance disadvantages, but there is always the requirement to stay up to date with patches. Running a full content management system like Wordpress means constant maintenance to avoid getting exposed to potential security threats.

# Blogging with RStudio

Blogging with RStudio During my MBA I got a bit exposed to R and RStudio. R’s core strength is working with data. While working with R I also stumbled across knitr, which allows writing really nice reports in $\LaTeX$ or Markdown with inline R. Really cool. Even better that someone has written some markdown templates for RStudio, that work together with hugo. This is a first test with a random example.
